The picture on this dishcloth is a silhouette of a Blue Jay or a Cardinal. The birds are very similar looking and this pattern can be used for either. They are easily recognizable by the distinctive crest atop the head and their tails.
The design is not symmetrical so adjustments may need to be made for lefty knitters depending upon their knitting style, and if it matters which way the bird is facing.
The picture is created in garter stitch on a stockinette background. The border is seed stitch, but the pattern is written so that you may substitute a preferred border if you wish.
